Thierry Henry to replace Arsene Wenger? Arsenal legend reportedly overtakes Diego Simeone in the race to become the next Gunners boss
ARSENAL are said to be considering appointing Thierry Henry as manager if Arsene Wenger leaves at the end of the season.The Gunners board have narrowed their options down to Henry and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, according to The Mirror.
Chairman Sir Chips Keswick and chief executive officer Ivan Gazidis are also said to favour hiring Henry as Wenger’s successor.The former Gunners striker is currently gaining experience as assistant manager to Roberto Martinez with Belgium, in the hope of gaining a top job in the futureBut Simeone is not completely out of the running as he reportedly has the backing of minority shareholder and Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov.
