Breaking News : Arsenal Announced first singing of the summer

Schalke Star's Arsenal Arrival Imminent as Gunners Secure Free Agent's Signature

Arsenal are on the cusp of landing Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer from Schalke, if reports in Italy are to be taken as gospel.
Sky Sport Italia (via Football.London) has claimed that the left-back's arrival at the Emirates is imminent after the Gunners saw off the challenge of other big European hitters in the battle to sign him.

Arsene Wenger's side have apparently beaten the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and AC Milan to Kolasinac's signature, and the 23-year-old may even land in England's capital earlier than anticipated.
Wenger had been reluctant to discuss any potential move for Kolasinac as he continues to consider his own future at Arsenal, but that hasn't stopped media outlets from all-but-confirming that the Bosnia international will become the club's first major signing of the summer when he officiall puts pen-to-paper on terms to join the Premier League outfit.

Kolasinac is already believed to have bid farewell to both his team-mates and Schalke's fans following their final match of the 2016/17 campaign - a game he missed due to suspension - and his arrival could spark the end of Kieran Gibbs' or Nacho Monreal's time in north London as Wenger bolsters his defensive ranks ahead of the next campaign.

Monreal is the more likely of the two to remain with Arsenal after making the left-back berth his own in the past two seasons, while Gibbs has been inundated with numerous strains and niggles in recent times that could count against him being retained on the club's books ahead of the 2017/18 curtain raiser.

Kolasinac, who broke into the first-team fold at Schalke after making his senior bow in September 2012, has featured 123 times for the club's senior side during his five-year spell in Gelsenkirchen, but is ready to move to pastures new after winding down his contract.

The 23-times capped international will become a free agent on 1st July, and Arsenal have stolen on a march on their league rivals and clubs further afield to bag his signature.

Both Chelsea and City had hoped to strengthen their own options at full-back with Kolasinac's arrival - the latter in particular, given that three of their four full-backs have left on free transfers themselves - while Milan had hoped their newfound wealth would entice Kolasinac to Serie A instead.
