Bayern Munich are planning a sensational £50.8m move for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez.
According to the Express, Carlo Ancelotti is already working out how Sanchez will fit into his Bayern side, with the Italian being said to have identified Sanchez as the perfect player to play just behind Robert Lewandowski.
Arsenal want to keep Sanchez, however with Arsenal's struggles in both the Premier League and Champions League this season, reports are suggesting Sanchez may not sign a contract extension next summer when it is set to expire.
The attraction of Champions League football as well as the title challenges every year may prove to be tempting enough for Sanchez to leave the Emirates, with contract negotiations between Sanchez and the Gunners seemingly stalling for the time being as Arsenal look to push for what would be an unlikely top four finish this season.
Whilst Arsenal are struggling, Arsene Wenger believes Sanchez has already decided he's staying at the Emirates. He said: "Basically he wants to stay at the club and it is down to finding an agreement with his agent.
"The players first have to see if there are happy at the club, then they have to find an agreement with the finances involved."
Bayern are well aware that a number of clubs will be chasing the signature of the Chilean, however after already agreeing to sign Niklas Sule and Sebastian Rudy in the summer, Ancelotti has said we wants to sign up to six new players before the start of next season after Bayern crashed out of the Champions League in the quarter-finals this season.
Although Bayern already have an array of talent in their squad and have reached four of the last five Champions League finals, they have only won the competition once in 2013 out of those five times. With Bayern wanting to cement themselves as Europe's strongest side, they will be wanting to add players of Sanchez's calibre to help achieve this.
With contrasting reports surrounding Sanchez future, Arsenal's end to the season will undoubtedly play a huge role in what the future may hold for the Chilean. A strong finish may give him a reason to stay for one more year, but Arsenal may then face the possibility of losing him for free once his contract expires at the end of next season should he choose not to extend it.
