Arsenal Targeting £47m Star Forward as Replacement for Wantaway Alexis Sanchez
Arsenal have set their sights on £47m-rated forward Hulk as a replacement for wantaway striker Alexis Sanchez, reports Don Balon.
The Chilean international has been linked with a move away from the Gunners throughout the season and with Arsenal failing to qualify for the Champions League and Sanchez entering the final year of his contract, it is becoming more likely that a move will take place this summer.
Arsenal failed to sign Real Madrid ace Karim Benzema when previously looking for a new striker with Hulk, who is one of the highest paid players in the world, being the new target.
The Brazilian star joined Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG and the beginning of the season for a massive £47m earning him an eye watering £320k-a-week.
Famous for his pace, strength and powerful left foot, he could be the ideal replacement for Sanchez and a move to Europe would help boost his chances of joining the Brazilian nationaside for the World Cup next year.
Hulk scored eight goals with nine assists this season out of 14 appearances in all competitions, but his current wage demand may prove too much for Arsenal even with the capital gained by selling Sanchez.
