Arsene Wenger, fresh off signing a new two-year contract with the Gunners, has made a bid for Real Madrid's much-neglected James Rodriguez, according to Spanish journalist Jose Luis Sanchez.
Sanchez claims that the north Londoners have made a bid for Rodriguez, who was harrowingly left out of the match-day squad for Real's Champions League final on Saturday, which has fallen short of Los Blancos' valuation.
Manchester United have been continually linked with the player whom Real paid around £70m for from Monaco following the 2014 World Cup.
According to Gooner Now, it appears that a bid less than the figure paid, around £50m, will be enough to tempt the European champions to part with the player, and it would seem that Rodriguez is a ready-made replacement for Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
Whether manager Arsene Wenger does decide to finally stump up the cash to sign genuine quality remains to be seen, but Gunners fan will be hopeful that the pressure on the Frenchman will at least see him make the changes necessary for Arsenal to have a successful campaign next season
