Arsenal £45m bid accepted for French sensation

Arsenal Ready to Offer £45m to Land Thomas Lemar After Seeing Prior Bids Rejected

Arsenal are growing increasingly confident of persuading Monaco to part with their star Thomas Lemar, and are ready to return with an improved third bid for the French winger.
As reported by the Mirrorthe Gunners are ready to offer Lemar a five-year deal worth £100,000-a-week plus, and may be willing to pay above £45m to the principality club for his services, after a bid of £40m was already turned down.

The 21-year-old Lemar enjoyed a breakout season in Monaco's historic 2016/17 campaign, contributing nine goals and ten assists as Leonardo Jardim's swashbuckling young side swept to their first Ligue 1 title in seventeen years.
The creative midfielder was also able to break into the impossibly competitive France squad last campaign alongside teammates Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoué Bakayoko, Bernard Mendy and Djibril Sidibe.

Arsenal have already been active in the transfer market, with fellow France international Alexandre Lacazette and Bosnian full back Sead Kolasinac arriving from Lyon and Schalke respectively.
However, Monaco are very reluctant to let their young star go, following the departure of Bernardo Silva to Manchester City and the imminent losses of the aforementioned Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy to other Premier League clubs.
Some reports have indicated they would only be willing to relinquish Lemar for around £80m, while others suggest no more first team players will be allowed to leave before the start of the 2017/18 campaign.
