Arsenal Prepare to Break Club Transfer Record to Bring Alexandre Lacazette to the Emirates

Arsenal continue negotiations with Ligue 1 side Lyon, as the Gunners prepare to break their transfer record with a £45m+ move for French international Alexandre Lacazette.
According to Sky Sports, the Gunners are confident of securing the signature for Les Gones' top goal scorer last season, with reports suggesting an agreement can still be reached between the two clubs for the 26-year-old.
The north London club, who will be playing in the Europa League next season, are keen to wrap up a deal for the striker and are willing to pay club record fee in the transfer market, with a statement signing close to £50m.

Considering Lacazette recently said he would only move to a Champions League club and Lyon are aiming for a fee closer to the sum Atlético Madrid were going to pay before their transfer ban was upheld, Arsenal will have to break the bank and convince the Lyon star of a move to Europa League team.
The pacey frontman, who notched 37 goals in 45 games last season, could be a straight swap for Alexis Sanchez who looks increasingly likely to join former boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
After Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas announced earlier in the week that his star striker would stay at the club that gave him his chance in 2010, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will have his work cut out as he seeks to add one of his key transfer targets before their pre-season tour in Australia.
