Arsenal are plotting a sensational move to sign Real Madrid sensation Marco Asensio, according to reports in Spain.The 21-year-old star enjoyed a superb breakthrough season with the European champions last time out but is believed to be in a contract dispute with the Spanish giants.And Arsenal are one of several top clubs across Europe said to be keeping tabs on the situation.
It’s being reported by Diario Gol that Arsene Wenger is interested in activating Asensio’s £72m release clause, but he faces competition from the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona.The player is said to be aware of the interest and has demanded talks with the Madrid hierarchy within the next week in a bid to decide his future.Reports state he is keen to remain at the Bernabeu, but feels he deserves a better deal given his performances and the level of interest in him from across Europe.
